On this podcast, Maanda Tshifularo interviewed Prof Saurabh Sinha, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg. Under his leadership as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, the UJ faculty of engineering was ranked number one in Africa in Engineering and Technology according to the Times Higher Education (2017). We discussed what it takes to build an award-winning faculty.
He shared his self leadership principles as well as organizational leadership principles. We also discussed artificial intelligence development in Africa and how the University of Johannesburg is preparing graduates for the fourth industrial revolution.
Prof Saurabh formerly served as Director of the Carl and Emily Fuchs Institute for Microelectronics at the University of Pretoria, where he graduated with a Ph.D. in electronic engineering. He has authored / co-authored over 100 journal articles and conference papers as well as three books, under his leadership.
