On this podcast, Maanda Tshifularo interviewed Mukundi Lambani, who is the Founder and Director of Ambani Africa, an education company that offers an accessible platform for foundation phase learners to learn their mother tongue. Mukundi has a Masters Degree in Communication and Media Studies. She was inspired to create this App after realising that her peers who were starting their families were increasingly getting worried that their children might grow up without being able to speak their home language. Ambani Africa App has done incredibly well and won numerous awards, including the MTN App of the Year 2021, IDF I am in Demo Day 2021, and the TIA Swiss SA award. Mukundi shared her personal experience of leading this start-up, and spoke to some of the challenges of how the team is working through them.
