On this podcast Maanda Tshifularo (SuperLead CEO) interviewed Noluvuyo Gqadu who is the founder of CodeNgwana, an organisation that is focused on teaching children from disadvantaged areas how to code. Noluvuyo is an award-winning technology professional, notably one of the 2021 Mail n Guardian 200 Young South Africans. She has written stories about technology for kids and has published three books, including a coding encyclopaedia that has been translated into isiXhosa and Setswana. She is involved in numerous initiatives aimed at closing the digital divide. Most recently, she helped translate the MIT Scratch Junior curriculum into isiXhosa. She holds a Master in Information Systems degree from UCT. On this interview, Noluvuyo talks about how her passion for solving social issues through technology led to the birth of CodeNgwana.
